Detail of Vertical Narrow I (from the Grey series), 2011
As an artist, I explore the social discourse of a given built environment. I find interesting interpretations in the use and meaning of the word building and how it refers to a structure and suggests progress. This allows me to review the key discursive elements of Modernism. My interest in Modernism is both sociological and structural; the first part incorporates the social sphere of different communities and these communities’ advancement, technological and other types, as well as a spiritual need that comes as a balance to the material needs.
