First Mother’s Day Flowers

This image is from “Domestic Landscapes” a body of work currently in progress about my domestic life. After my son’s birth two years ago, I realized multiple complications of being a parent. I began to document my current alien life as a mother. In the last two years as I relate to everything differently and making this body of work “Domestic Landscape” I use photography to examine the struggles of incorporating new parenthood into female identity as well as issues of parenthood and class. Using signifiers of class, gender, and social status I question the judgment passed upon people daily. This project allows me to contemplate how people can be a better people and parents.
